PARK & EXPLORE

The Archeological Museum of Heraklion is found in the center of the city and is the place where the visitor can see the great collection of the Minoan civilization’s artifacts. It is one of the most important museums in the world and the exhibits cover all the important periods of the ancient Cretan history, starting some 5.500 years ago, ranging from the Neolithic until the Roman times. The Heraklion Archeological Museum is synonymous to the marvelous Minoan civilization. In the museum you will see beautiful ancient artifacts such as golden jewellery, marble statues, parts of the Knossos walls frescoes, as well as the unique Disc of Festos.

The center of Heraklion is just 300 meters away from our parking. The visitor can get there through the very interesting neighborhoods of the old city, which are full of old houses built from the Venetian period to the ottoman and the neoclassical times. In the center of the city of Heraklion you can go shopping at the numerous shops, visit the open air central market or walk a little further down to the old harbor where you will find the old castle of Koules.

Surrounding our parking there are plenty of sights worth visiting, such as the Tomb of Kazantzakis (the world famous Cretan author of Zorbas the Greek, the Last Temptation of Jesus, and Kapetan Michalis), the ancient walls of the city with the numerous stone arch passages leading in and out of the old city’s walls, the stadium (built-in the ancient walls), but the best part is that from our parking facilities you can start a great walk on the walls of the old city, enjoying the view from above and let your sight wonder 360 degrees to the horizon.
